Vote for Evelyn [Feb. 1st, 2005|09:16 am]

The Des Moines Register is looking for the hottest female, and I say Evelyn is it. E-mail Kyle Munson, kmunson@dmreg.com and tell him Evelyn Finch gets your vote.

hey everyone. in case you didn't hear frankenixon are about to embark on tour. probably their last one under the name frankenixon, as they are changing their name to 'sword of exactly' if you are able it would be great for you to make it out to a show, bring a friend, sick relative, thats right, sick relative, as frankenixon's music is SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN* to have medicinal powers. so go, support, spend. follow them around. learn more here.

take care everyone.

Upcoming Mewsness [Jun. 20th, 2004|11:49 pm]

Yeah, so, I dunno if it's appropriate to do so, since I'm just some guy, and all y'all can check out their website and probably do on a regular basis, but Frankenixon's playing the Vaudeville Mews here in Des Moines twice in the coming weeks.

Tuesday, June 29th (with the Blame Game) $5 day of.
Saturday, July 3rd (with John Vanderslice and the Autumn Project) $6 in advance/$8 day of.

I, for one, am lookin' forward to the really-big-shews!

Frankenixon anew [Jun. 4th, 2004|04:43 pm]
[mood |disappointeddisappointed]
[music |Juliana Hatfield - In Exile Deo]

In the case that you haven't been to Frankenixon.com in a while, there's some news up there. Bass player Ben Baier has left the group. The remaining 3 are taking it in stride and making the proverbial lemonade with the proverbial lemons they have been handed. They will continue to perform as a trio. If it works out really well, they may decide not to recruit another bass player for a while.

All show and tour plans are as of yet unaffected. Let's hope it stays that way.

In response to Mr. Hefley's post, I shall go ahead and make my first mark in this community. I've been watching for a little while having just found the community a few weeks ago. I'm a life-long resident of Ames and have followed Frankenixon for years now and dearly love them. I find it exciting now that I'm off at college (all the long way to ISU) and have friends who are being exposed to Frankenixon and other local bands of the area for the first time. And now, just a few weeks ago I have witnessed some of their exposure on a more national/worldwide level on Pitchfork. I was looking through the "free downloads" section and stumbled upon Frankenixon's 'Impasse' (as well as The Envy Corps' 'Prisoners of War'). If you are perusing the site looking at reviews and such you might also run into an add for Amorphous. It's so great to watch them grow and see what I love so much finally being shared with so many.

Where did everybody go? Did Frankenixon do something bad and now you all hate them?

They're sorry about that SARS thing. They said it won't happen again.
